Can any one tell me I I would need a Passport to travel to Belfast from Scotland.

Hi this is where it gets a bit tricky if you go by ferry it says on the ferry web site that all that is required is some sort of ID say a photo driving licence, how ever flying it says you may need a passport dependant on the operator?

I heard that you often need a passport now to fly from Edinburgh to London? is that correct? this is since 9 / 11 ??
