I almost got suspended on Thursday, an intersting occurnce for a goody-goody geek like me. The school's been trying to introduce a uniform through pretty sahdy and undemocratic means, and me and a few friends came up with the AUA, Anti Uniform Association. We asked the Scottish Law office, they said the school culd not legally enforce the uniform.

We then fwded their email to a few people in the school, and put it in the shared folder for the school IT system. BAM! Me and a mate were called to the Rector's office, and told it was inflamatory, defamatory, and dividing the school, they also said that we could be suspended for this. WTF, man, it's just info, we're informing people of their rights! Letters were sent home and we were banned from email till Easter. I don't care, my parents entirely support me on this issue (yay) and they are on our 'side'.

People's thoughts on this issue please? I should probably have posted it on life, but I may as well try here. We also have a website www.aua.uk.tt.

There is only so far rebelling can go before it becomes annoying. My school is in a state. People kept saying it was a joke, which I suppose it was six months ago. People seem determind to keep it that way and it annoys the hell out of me. Every time we have a supply teacher, people winge that we won't learn and then they don't bother with the work, then they use the excuse "we didn't have a teacher so that explains our crap exam results". If people would just conform every now and again then it would be a lot better.

Me and one of my friends got suspended from school when we were in Year 11 for opening our own food stall in the canteen in protest for us having to pay like 70/80p for processed meat. We just bought loooads of food from Tesco on the way to school and then sold it with 10p added on. We nearly collapsed the school dinner system lol

In Scotland they can't legally force you to wear school uniform.

However, the school can issue punishment for not following school rules.

The only way to get out of wearing uniform is to produce a letter from your parent or legal guardian stating that they don't want you wearing unifrom.

Simple.

You obviously have trouble thinking of interesting and original things to say.

Uniforms suck, good job i dont have to wear one.

Get loads of people to sign a petition, and send it to your council and a letter telling them what you want, and why, and they will probably do something about it if they think its worth it.

munn, is that true? Please tell. If it is the school is sooo toasted. If not I've found a nice cheap tuxedo off ebay for my uniform.
