Is there a way to save movie maker files so they are watchable in windows media player? Everytime I save I am only able to play back in movie maker and I cannot send this to someone.

You're just saving the MM project- it's not actually a video at all. You need to go to : File > Save Movie File, and then choose what codec and qualit y you want to save at.
