What if all of the console developers i.e SONY, MICROSOFT, SEGA (I know they've stopped making consoles, but that should still be a part)and NINTENDO, all worked together to create a console, the ultimate console.
Just imagine. There would be no shortage of games, as every games developer would be working on games for just one console and there would be no more console wars.
I think this would be a great idea, but of course, it would probably never happen.

Yeah it has been done before and the name we came up with for this super console wasssss: Sonintendoft!

Man I like the sound of that!

Although I agree with what your saying...

I'd have though that despite the lack of licencing, that the PC has pretty much the same ratio of dross to cool titles as consoles?

tis the life of a newbie... mind u, gd work... it took us regulars ages to suggest an all in one console when the site was first up! Keep at it!

Sorry, I didn't realise that it had been done before, but I am running out of ideas of what to post.

We have had this one soo many times. It would be bad because of the following general points:

Less competition between people like sega and nintendo to get people to buy there console= excellent games (ok, doesn't apply for sega!)

More poor quality games appearing that take advantage of the fact that there would be no licencing (like on the PC)

Many good companies going out of business as FF7 would have had to compete with Zelda 64. With games with such a high budget it would be impossible for them to evolve more.
