Has any one streamed their web cam directly to their web space? like a live stream (is that the correct term?) and if so how do you do it? what software do you need? and does it use much of your bandwidth?
OK I am looking at that site from google as I am using windows 98 se so the XP power tools wont be an option maybe it will be easier to stick with using MSN he he it looks complicated :-)
You can't stream to web space as such. Streaming is just sending a file as it's being produced somewhere. If you streamed to your web space, it would just very quickly fill up your web space.
What you ideally need to do is run a streaming server from your own PC. People then connect to your PC (either directly by your IP address, or via a web site) and they can view the stream.
Alternatively, as that web site suggests, you can simply upload images every few seconds or whatever to a web site. I believe Turbonutter had a script that did that. Alternatively, one of the Windows XP Powertools (free) can do this, but it didn't work with my webcam. Just try downloading it and having a go.
