at the moment ive got a desktop thats about 5 years old so it doesnt play any games atall im having to use my dads laptop can any one tell me if it would be easier to get a new desktop or just buy ram and a graphics card for the desktop ive got?

Well if it's 5 years old you'll need a new CPU and most likely a new motherboard too.
