"SA starter help?"

I probably sound really dumb for saying this but I have no experience of other GTA games.

But what do I need to do to achieve the first save in the game? I seem to be wondering round aimlessly at the moment, finding nothing really that'll help me out.

Finished it first time.

Bare easy.

That was a pretty damn hard mission for the first one.
I had to get off my bike, steal a car and lead the ballas into a steet where they jumped out of their car and shot their gas tank.
Finished that mission after several attempts.

Just keep playing until you can do what you like - so, after the bike- riding stuff.
All that is part of the first misson - and you can't save during missions. Wait 'til you've finished, then back to CJ's and you can save.

Just follow the story until you get a floppy icon on the map.

Which means save point.

I've got to CJ's house but only for there to be a scene with Big Smoke. So i saw no floppy disc icon. Then theres the bike riding afterwards so I'm not sure if i'm at saving stage yet.

I asume you've managed to get to CJ's house? If so just walk in the front door and head striaght for the little floppy disc icon and then it'll let you save your progress.
