Lately I have dived right into a fair few games and I must say they have surprised me somewhat. Some for better and some for worse. Just so you know this is not coming from a Nintendo fanboy, as I own all three of the consoles and buy games for each whenever I get the chance.

Halo 2, GTA: SA, WWE Smackdown .vs. Raw and Paper Mario 2 have been making their way into my colletions recently, but I can't help but feel that three of them have let me down. And it ain't the three you'd expect.

Halo 2 while yes it is very polished and a good multiplayer, just hasn't really given me a lot of fun to be honest. The game looks nice and sounds great too, but it just lacks something. Same with GTA SA. I'm playing it, but not having much fun. The missions are very repetitive and I hate the lock on system and also the camera. Maybe my sights were set too high I don't know, but both have disappointed me severely.

Now Smackdown .vs Raw is a different story. It's good, but again just not as good as I was hoping. Wrestling games are getting better by the year, and this game is great, but again very similar to last years edition. New features are nice but very small.

Finally Paper Mario 2. This game is amazing. What more can I say? It's definately biggest surprise of the year and possibly my favourite to be released this year. It is extremely fun and I can't find too much to fault it by. It's one of the few games where I'm real upset it has to end.

Halo 2: 7.8/10
GTA: SA: 8.2/10
Smackdown .vs. Raw: 8.9/10
Paper Mario 2: 9.5/10

These are just my opinions and I know I'm perhaps the only person who feels this way, but I believe hype isn't everything.

I think the majority of people would agree with you about Halo 2, too short and more of an expansion pack than a sequel. Dissapointing, even for someone who wasn't a big fan of the original.

Haven't played the other two yet though.
