Anyway few talking points for me about the all-star game.
First of course has to be Vince Carter serving up his dinner with the pass off the glass and the dunk. Didn't quite get as high as the dunk contest a few years back but his head was almost level with the rim, Carter's got some crazy hops.
Iverson, pretty well deserved MVP i think.
Shaq daddy and Kobe not shaking hands at all at the start and i don't think they did at the end either, shame the refs didn't let Shaq's steal on Kobe count as that would have been a great moment. Pretty close 3 pointer though from big diesel at the end, shame it didn't go in.
Yao Ming already has 3 all-star appearances? Time sure does fly. (even if in his first all star appearance he played for about 10 seconds :-D)
The Amare Stoudemire alley-oop was pretty damn good as well with the reverse dunk.
But well done to Sky for finding someone even more moronic than Gerry Armstrong to comment on a sport, i refer of course to Nick Nurse with his comments that the rest of the world has caught up to the USA in basketball and even comparing the 2004 Olympic team to the 1992 dream team. Firstly they shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as the dream team let alone compared to them and secondly the rest of the world has caught up to our second string of players and that's all. Let's see Argentina beat a US team that actually has the best players in, let's see how Ginobli and company deal with Shaq Daddy, T-Mac, Kidd and Kobe just to name a few that weren't in the team. The fact is the players view the NBA season as more important than some olympic competition that, just like baseball, is only there to try and make some money off the american market.
And it sucks that we didn't get to see the good stuff like the dunk contest, handling skills and the legends game
Phew haven't had a good rant for ages :-D Your thoughts on the all-star game
The half time entertainment this year in American sports has really sucked. Destiny's Child?? Bah, can't stand them tarts
My dad got me a Nets top in New York when he went to one of their games, and I've always liked Miami Heat and Orlando Magic as well. Don't know why. Maybe it's because their names don't end in 's' like every other team (bar the Jazz). :-D
It doesn't fit any more though.
:-(
