Ok, I'm online, I find servers and a large list (of europe servers, not full) gets displayed.

If I doubleclick / right click -> join game then most of the time the server info is simply displayed. Click joing game again here, and nothing happens.

When I quit, my internet connection is removed, and I have to restart the machine to get it up and running.

Sometimes it takes half an hour to connect, and thats just clicking down the list to find a server I can connect too.

Any ideas? Or is this a steam issue?

Hmmm, might have to look into that, although I might run it through the ethernet port first to see if that works (no requirement for consoles, and already got a wireless for the laptop). Why is it every time I buy stuff for the computer, it *always* ends up well over budget!

Do you have that USB ADSL modem that looks like a dead frog?

I think that could be the cause of your connection disappearing and having to restart, which may be related to the other connectivity problems.

It's supposed to be solvable by running it through a powered USB hub.
