I recently put some hover buttons on my web page I run windows 98 SE and use Frontpage 2000, now the site is working well and everything is OK on my screen, and every other screen I see it on! but 3 folk get red crosses where the hover buttons should be? now one of those folk is using a laptop with XP, another is using XP at his works address, he can see it fine at home on Windows 98se, and the third I have no info on. My nextdoor neighbour is using a desktop with XP and its fine on her PC? what on earth is causing this to happen? just as another note to this these folks that cant see the hover buttons cant use Yahoo chat rooms? may be connected? any suggestions?

If I remember correctly, FrontPage 2000 also allows you to use JavaScript to do hover buttons. If not, they're very easy to create, and I could tell you how or point you in the right direction. CSS rollovers are also very easy to do, and again, myself or someone else here would be happy to help you with them.

No we just chose the hover buttons because we have never had a problem with them in the past and they came free with Frontpage 2000

The coffee cup is the Java Virtual Machine (I think that's what it's called - it's certainly Java related). Any other computer you wish to view the Java applet on will need to have downloaded the same thing.

Is there any particular reason you have chosen to use Java for your hover buttons? There are plenty of other options available.

Erm, maybe! Being the thing that allows their PC to actually run the Java Applet!

Would downloading "Sun Java" help? or should that not be needed?

Try clearing the browser cache anyway, and check their browser settings to ensure Java is enabled.

Will try that there is no image as such as its Java? this is the code, as you can see its fphover.class I think this will be more to do with the problem? I wondered if it was a Jave reading problem or firewall setting? on the 3 PCs that may be wrong? I do not understand why it is working on XP and these three folks are having a problem, its weird,

Get them to clear their browser cache. The red cross means the browser can't load the images. If there had been a problem once accessing that image, their browser may not check each time.

Also, try typing in the URL of the image it can't load into the address bar on their PC then press enter. If it doesn't load properly, click Ctrl+F5. If it gives an error after doing this, post the error message in here.
