Please read the following information and with your honest opinions please reply with any feed back as this would be most helpful.
I have started a brand new website called gallery4u.co.uk, which is open for all budding artists to place there work on there by either contacting us or by actually going on the site and uploading there work. With a colleague we have managed to look at the "online Art world" and found that there really are areas of the market where Artists are really not getting the best deal.
We have decided to open this great site where we would be very happy to place their art work on there for no fee what so ever. We will happily spend the time by setting up your own area of art work or if you wish mix your art with the correct market you are trying to sell it too.
Due to capital issues we are trying to spread the word by mouth or by asking local newspapers to do a small piece on the sites great future for budding artists. hopefully by getting universities involved we could actually stage a great site for all to view.
We have discussed cost issues and by charging the artist 8% of the cost of selling we can then use this to advertise further such as using google to position our site higher on the search engines ect.
I feel this is fair as the cost of advertising seems to be more of an issues then I realised, but I would like your feed back on this.
