Hi, i need a fire wire port in my laptop, i dont have one right now...
Can anyone recommend some sort of add on, preferably external, that will give me a firewire port?
Or, failing that, somthing that can give me a usb 2.0 socket.

Being blonde here but what is Firewire?
Just Google "PCMCIA Firewire card". They cost in the region of £25 and just slot into your laptop. If your flush you can get a combo card that does both USB 2 and Firewire but cost nearly three times the price.
Edit. After a quick look round I found a PCMCIA Firewire card at under £6 on another site. So hunt before you buy.
