HOORAH!

Just been having a gander at gamesindustry.biz, and a news article there says that an anagram of EAGM (and assumably others, to keep up) will be dropping it's HIGH STREET & ONLINE prices of chart titles from £37-£39.99 down to £29.99, until the 21st of February.

Although this is a promotion, my guess is that it's a good sign towards game prices coming down. Maybe because the current generation has peaked, but whatever it is, I think that soon these prices will be the norm.

I guess it won't result in a huge shopping spree for all (after all, online prices have generally been £29.99 due to SR/Zonama and the like) but it's a step forward (in my humble op)

Thoughts?

It just shows you how much mark up there is on goods when stores can sell them for a lot less and still make profit.

This means nothing anyway. The only game I haven't bought on the internet in the last 2 years was San Andreas because I was adamant that I was going to have it on the day of its release. Games are unreasonably priced in most shops so I don't bother with them any more.

If you read further, it also means publsihers will have a harder time profiting from their game sales. Just desserts if it was EA, but guess what? EA are probably the only publisher in a position to negotiate their game prices.

To summarise, EA gets stronger. And we all want that, don't we? :(

I think they're shifting last years stuff to make way for the large amount coming their way.

Well I was in Game yesterday and every chart title except Rome Total Way (for some reason it was £35) was £30.

It still doesn't make up for their general incompetence though.
