Right.

Recently been skiing in France, and, silly me, left the odd little UK adapter for my Firewire plug thingy.

Now I can't charge my 'Pod without my PC being on, which truly blows.

Heeelp?

Can I buy somewhere, without shelling £30 on a "World Travel Adapter Kit"?

Makes no difference when connected to the PSU as the PSU is limited to it's output unlike using either of the USB or FW ports on a PC. And unless your using FW800, there's no difference between USB2 and FW, in fact, if anything, USB2 is slightly faster that FW400.

All this is, is the same charger but with a USB port instead of the FW port and as it's for charging only, it makes no difference.

FWIW, cahrging your iPod using your PC/FW constantly, reduces the battery life as opposed to charging using the PSU.

Ta-da - £19

There's a 2 week shipping date, but somewhere like MacWarehouse might have one in stock. But effectively it's the USB version of the power adapter.

You could buy a UK - France adapter in those travel shops.
