Dose any one have a clue to why Half Life 2 is running not up to scratch on my system? I have a 9800pro and I’ve heard very good things about them with HL2 but I can only seem to run the game around the medium/high settings with some very nasty FPS spikes. But I’ve heard the 9800pro should be running it at full with AAx8, no problem.
Here are the rest of my system specs,
Gigabyte 7vt00p-RZ
Athlon 3200+
9800pro 128mb 256bit memory interface
512mb of pc3200 ram.
The only thing I can think of is there is not enough memory, is 512mb enough or should I upgrade to a gig? Has any one else had trouble running it with 512mb?

Lowering the sound can mean that not as much data is going around or being processed, and can lessen then chances of the stuttering bug for one. Also, make sure V-Sync is off.

They are on recommended but what difference will the sound settings make?
