I mean Jesus, Burma has used House Arrest as a method of holding people without trial for years. It's getting rather sad when one of the most oppressive regimes on earth is more enlightened about disobeying the rule of law than we are...

The government can now confine me to house arrest without me committing a crime. This is getting pretty weird. Anyone else reckon this will be used against protesters etc, in the same way as they used the anti-terrorism powers to search everybody before the arms fair a couple of years back? Oooh, look, just before the G8 meet in the UK too.
