I worked for MacDonalds for a year and read their answer to the film in their MDUK staff magazine, so I had to go and see the question. :-)

It is very much Bowling for Colombine with guns being replaced with fries and coke and the NRA being replaced with MacDonalds.
The "30 binge" stunt is really stupid, and just as cringeworthy as MacDonalds, although you do get to hear his girlfriend talking of how it's affected his "performance".

Still, despite the hyperbole, there is an important message shining through and plenty of evidence to suggest that it is a problem in America.
Interestingly, the guy famous eating a record number of Big Macs (it must be nearly 20,000 by now...) actually has a low calorie count.
It'll obviously be partly metabolism, but it was also a lot to do with the fact that he rarely dabbled with coke of fries. The "soda drinks" are what the medical experts recommended ditching the most when the binge eater's health got bad.

It also had a lot of Moore style humour, just aimed at heavy people rather than crazy right wingers or gun toting militias! :-)

I guess it's worth watching but... :-S

I keep doing that...

I think it's partly because we call it Maccy D's, partly because of this Big "Mac", and partly because I really don't care about the place to notice properly. :-)

He mentioned mood swings but you didn't see much of that.

What you did see is how he turned from Ned Flanders into Homer Simpson...
I mean, not literally but you get the giest.

And his girlfriend did take note of how his "performance" dropped.

I can't even remember the last time I ate a burger or KFC.

Still, If someone did an expose on Indian food and how it's bad for you (I know the colouring in chicken Tikka is supposedly carciogenic) I'd just look at them and go "meh....."

Most things are bad in excess.

I still haven't got around to watching Supersize me (busy man). Doesn't his personality change substantionally due to the poor diet?

Yeah I know about the KFC thing..but at least it looks like chicken..unlike Mc Donalds burgers which looks like a giant crap.

there's a reason KFC had to stop using the word "chicken" y'know mate :S

Burger King is the only one that tastes any good, and they spoil it entirely by giving you sticks of solidified deep-fry batter and calling them chips.

bottom line, every now and then? it's all ok, just don't think about what's actually in it.

Exactly. You and I might think it's ridiculous to eat junk food two or three times a day, but there are people who do it. Which is highlighted in the film, oddly enough. The 30 day thing was just the hook, the actual message is much more powerful.
