Instead of going straight to my desktop, I have to lick on profile name etc and instead of, when shutting down, having the 3 different coloured buttons I now have the dropdown menu toolbar?
Using XP btw.
What the hell has this NET framework thing done to my machine?
The CCC doesn't work with anything below 9500 pro's, doesn't anyone ever read the release/installation notes or info?
CATALYST™ for Windows XP
Version 5.1 with CATALYST™ Control Center (28MB)*
* REQUIRES .NET Framework to be installed first
Version 5.1 with ATI Control Panels (22MB)
You want the second option not the one in bold!!
FWIW, the CCC runs a temp file too in the background (cli.exe I think) which can really hog system resources, so it's well worth avoiding it unless you have a real monster of a PC.
All the CCC does is give you a GUI with a video giving your GFX setting in real time before applying them. Totally pointless

Are these the drivers for ATI graphics cards? This might be why I can't get any drivers to work for my Radeon 9000 card to work...
What happened before you installed the framework? Did it just throw back an error about not finding the hardware? That's what mine does.
Uninstalling now, hopefully that'll sort it out
