The "Creative Writing" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
I've decided to make the subject Tracks.
Hopefully there's a lot of potential inspiration in that, what with the several multiple meanings. The links can be as subtle or as strong as you like, so I think there's sufficient room here for enough diversity.
I'll allow up to two entries per person - if you're on an inspiration high, I don't want to be the one to stop you, but remember that there can only be one winner, so it may be worth concentrating on just the one story.
There's no word limit - within reason - and the closing date for entries is Tuesday 8th February, which gives you the traditional two weeks. I'll announce the results the following Wednesday.
So - enjoy.
RESULTS
Cheers to everyone who entered, the input is always appreciated. As for judging, I think I'll revert to the first, second and third tiers and ignore the radical ways of the rebellious Black Glove/Faberge Gem.
Third
Addict by Paradox.
There was just something impressive and memorable about the distinctive style, and how well the airy atmosphere was conveyed. Good stuff.
Second
Pensées by arctic hobo.
This was really well done, and very close to being first. Being so short and tightly written, it was very difficult to fault and a good read.
First
Ginormous by Meka Dragon.
As I said in the thread, it wasn't a flawless piece of writing, but it was so enjoyable and so easy to read, especially being so comparatively long, that it really was that bit more impressive to clinch the top spot.
Onwards to number nineteen then.

Mange takk :-)
Cheers for the mention too, Mav. I thought the other story I did was actually better than the first one I did, but I suppose I'm not the one that has to read them. :)
Well done Meka :)
