Something's been bothering me about that speech, and the rhetoric we've been force-fed since Bush & Rumsfeld decided to wage war on Iraq in November 2001 (various sources inc "Plan of Attack" by Bob Woodward).
I've seen Bush & Blair preach over and over about what that was/is/shall be about.
And then it hit me. Whenver you read/hear their speeches or defence of that landgrab - replace the word "democracy" with "capitalism" and you've got it.

Just think of those poor Iraqis suffering so terribly (not any more though we liberated them, no it's a magical land of gumdrop trees and champagne rivers now. Don't watch the news, concentrate on tsunamis). Those crushed, oppressed Iraqis that are now free. Think of the ipods/burgers/dvd players/credit cards/matching interior decorations/cars/SUVs/caravans/videogame consoles/etc/etc/etc that they were missing out on. No Fox Network news, no TimeWarner, no McDonalds, no Nike, no Gap, no AOL, no Starbucks, no Walmart/Asda.
But that's all changed now - just as soon as insurgents...my bad, they're terrorists now...stop trying to oust foreign armies from their land who invaded a sovereign nation with zero provocation.
Capitalism, not Democracy and it makes a lot more sense.
Because America supports democracy. Just look at El Salvador/Nicarague/Colombia/Chile/Mexico/Iran-Iraq/Saudi Arabia/Afghanistan.

Besides, The President is such a moral champion that he's giving his support and vocal authority to Pro-Life groups in the states.
A group of people/political organisation that wants to remove a woman's right to abort the bunch of cells taking shape inside her.
Democracy in action folks! We didn't mean a democracy where people are actually free to do what they want, no! We mean a democracy where people are free to do whatever we decide is freedom for them!

"Mr Bush did not go to the demonstration but made a speech by telephone, saying abortion opponents had to show others of "the rightness of our cause"
This is the same President championing democracy that has indicated he wants to try and get a consitutional ban on gay marriages.

Yay Democracy!

I just find it ironic that a President who waged "war" on the Taliban (we don't like them now they don't fight Russians and protect the opium for us) because they oppressed the women in their country is now deciding to tell women what they can and can't do, by law, with their own bodies.
A bunch of didactic elder males telling females what they can and can't do.

What i found funny was that Bush stated: to End Tryanny... yet Michael More and Alex Jones both state that the USA is a tryannical regieme itself, either Moore and Jones are talking crap or Bush is a hypacrit
