Anyway i was thinking if the universe is as huge as it is claimed to be, and there aare billions of other starts with orbiting planets why would anyone refute the possibilty of Extra terrestrial life. but why get stupid english boffins like Colin Pilonker to search on Mars. what would be the point of life on mars if they weren't as advanced as us.
also why search the depths of space when it takes ages to get a message there, why not just let the crazy aliens come and kill us all, or let them land on a mars base and get Georgw W to nuke em?

1) It's far easier investigating a planet in our own system than one halfway across the galaxy.
2) The evidence of even simple life on Mars irrefutably proves existence of other life in the universe. Even though fanatics will simply state god created life on Earth AND mars, and there's no evidence of life anywhere else . ;)
