So for all of you who follow foreign leagues, a brief summary of how good he is?
I know he was at Ajax, then Marseilles (I think I heard that) and is now at Roma. Apparently never fitted in at Roma? Did he get sacked from Ajax or something?

Used to always sign him in Champ a few years back and he always did a good job for me, and as we all know Champ's (well Footie Manager now) is the first and last source of knowing how good a player is :-D

From what little I saw of him, he seems to me like one of those players who slowly celebrates after goals, by opening his arms and looking up to god. I know what I mean by that anyway...

In one word - immature.
Finds problems with every manager and player, but very talented. He's as near as I can think to Fredi Kanoute, being lanky and skillful... but I'd have Fredi anyday.

Keano looks like he may well leave, Fredi's been linked with a few clubs and there's always the chance someone will table a large, un-refuseable, bid for Defoe.
He's Egyptian, and apparently very good. Fans in Rome didn't like him because he didn't play well on his first performance (has been jeered ever since then I believe), but I don't actually think he's all that bad.
