The Gameboy Advance's speaker is pretty loud, loud enough to get attention from passengers on a train anyway! Unfortunately it's even darker than the Colour when it comes to trying to see the screen, and original wormlights use too much battery power, so a new wormlight advance or lightboy advance will still be a recommended purchase alongside the console.
My eyes are currently suffering from squinting at my GBA everytime a cloud goes past!
In fact here's the best I can do to prove it:
The C is red
The O is Purple
The L is Green
The next O is yellow
and the R is a light blue!
Also check your Pokémon Gold boxes (or any GBC box). If it has a Round seal of quality then it is a UK box, if it's oval then it's an american box.
My Pokémon Gold box has 'COLOR' on it and has the round seal of quality.
It also has printed on the there is another round Seal of quality and a "Compatable with Game boy Color" box between "Compatable with Game Boy" and "link Cable"
Plus the Union Jack next to the writing on the back of the box.
Actually this is useless.....
On my box and all my colour games it says "Color"!
> The Gameboy Color (That's the correct spelling)
mmmm... Its spelt Colour on the box and the machine of my GBC?
The original Gameboy seemed better!
The Gameboy Color is so quiet that unless you've got headphones, you wont hear it whilst in a car or on a bus. Also it's not very reflective, so when you go anywhere where there is shadow, you wont be able to see it clearly! That means you'll need a worm light.
The Gameboy ADvance will hopefully have got rid of these problems and anyway, I play my GBC at home so I don't need the wormlight or headphones!
