Just got this out, I actually really liked it.

Thought Carey and Winslet were excellent as well. Was expecting a crappy love story or arty panty thing... but good all round. Waheh

Yeah, I might go buy it as well.

In the Physics building at my Uni there is a tiny cupboard/door thing between endless other normal doors.

Anyway, somebody had got a proper sign for it that say 'Professor John Malkovich'. See, those geeks have a sense of humour.

This was my favourite film of last year. Was a real suprise to me how clever the whole thing was, I expected it to be enjoyable but I never expected to like it so much that I went out a week later and bought it.

Have really enjoyed the other Kaufman films that I've seen as well. Being John Malkovich confused me at times, but I still managed to really enjoy it in my confusion.

Pop videos shouldn't be this clever.

I'm a huge fan of Gondry's work. Check out the Director's Choice DVD of his - that Cibo Matto "Sugar Water" video is stunning. He did the White Stripes Lego video, and the one where they jump about with the amps and drum kits. And he did a Beck video, and Bjork. Very clever man. Carey and Winslet were good, and it was a sufficient enough mindbend to make you go "Hmmmm".

EDIT: And I love Kaufmann too. Saw Adaptation recently, and I've got BJM - superb.

Ahhh, I'm getting the chronology wrong. Of course, that's right.

Yeah they were but then they listened to the tapes, didn't they?

I couldn't really figure it out, I thought they deceided that it would end up like it had done?

I did like them meeting up again as the intro... etc

??? They did. It's the closing scene. They got back together, but didn't know how they got there. They first met at the party on the beach, they rediscovered each other on the same beach after their memories had been wiped.
