I just did a ping test with a new testing site and it said...

0 packet loss
22 ms ping from Milton Keynes to me (Central London)
5ms jitter

I've never heard of jitter.

What is this?

Yes. It means the latency varies between 17ms and 27ms, which is pretty good.

In this contect Jitter is the term used to describe the variation over time of packet latency in the network. So effectively that test is saying that the latency can very by 5ms either way.
