Has anybody been able to install the new MySQL Database Server on to their XP Home systems?

I've just tried it out, but the configuration only gets to the Write configuration file stage, and stops at the Start Service stage, reporting Cannnot create Windows service for MySQL. Error: 0.

I've got MySQL 4.0.20a-nt running on Windows XP Pro. Not tried any newer versions. See if you can get that version to run first.

Have you looked at the mysql.com forums? Quite a few reports + possible solutions on there for that error.
