I initially downloaded QT without iTunes myself, but have since installed it. It's actually a nice piece of software - the only problem is the inability to use the songs with anything other than the iTunes software or iPod.
I don't have an iPod, and have no intention of buying one... but it's not a problem if you have a CD writer, as I've already said.
[S]slap me.
damn bloatware.
I can't wait for them to get sued over their pathetic overpricing of songs and the 'can't be played on anything other than our own products' scam they're running...
If you don't have an MP3 player, Napster is the way forward!
Plus they force you to download iTunes now if you want to get Quicktime...
Currently the only way to use music from iTunes on an MP3 player or other PC-based audio software, is to burn it to CD and then rip the CD to MP3!
You could try http://www.mycokemusic.com instead - I don't think their selection is as big as iTunes, but you can use them on portable systems.
Albums - mostly £7.99, but some cost more. You can buy individual tracks from albums at 79p also.
Oh, and you can burn audio CDs of the music you buy from within the iTunes software, but you can't copy them to any music player except the iPod, or play them with any MP3 player on your PC other than the iTunes software. Apple are about to be sued over this aspect.
