Just to share a tip or two:

I have some really diabolically low bitrate mp3s from the days when harddrive space was precious little, with all manner of noises and clicks. As well as some oldies that just sound rubbish due to the technology of the early 80's late 70's (Not Abba, or Queen).

Anyway I have just found that by using the creative media cleanup function in mediasource, (as long as you dont over do it - otherwise it sounds a bit digital), you can get crystal clear sound. Thats not all, using the "Record What you hear" function you can get astoundingly good re-encodings of your edited mp3.

That "Record what you hear" function has also allowed me to plunder with amazing quality tracks from Other Itunes users on the Uni network as well as loads of tracks from the free trial of Napster.

Creative I salute you.

Tig, FWIW, I've found that you can run Apache (or similar) on your machine and it is accessible across the network (within a range). I had assumed that it would be blocked somehow, but it's not.

I think it's limited to the block you're in or something. Just make sure all the PCs are on the same workgroup and it'll work. Yeah, I know it's against the T&Cs, but hey!
