How good is the English Film Industry...we have made some great films over the years, but god we've made some crap as well.....I'm probably gonna get flak for this but am I the only one who thinks Notting Hill / Four Weddings & A Funeral / Bridget Jones et al are absolute rubbish. I read a poll of the top ten English films ever and Snatch and The Long Good Friday werent there.

i still think "4 weddings..." is quality.
"Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking barrels" and "Snatch" were both briliant British films, so I shall be expecting the same from Layer Cake as I have yet to see it.
Snatch is wonderful. The rest Notting Hill et al are simple budget. They're cheap to make, and rake in the cash. Damn, even Shaun If The Dead was a romantic Comedy. Wonderfully subverted, but enden up being finaced by Working Title, the company they were lampooning.
Side note, anyone know what the track playing is when the hare coursing is on? Love it.
