"Free player to play AVI's"

Any ideas? I just need a bit of software to play AVI's as Windows Media Player has an error finding the Codec or something like that.

Any links or sites would be welcome.

Just dont use WMP for AVIs, download "Divx player", google it. Its free.

Personally I prefer PowerDVD but thats not free, I bought PowerDVD 6 standard online (paid about £12.00 for an instant download) then hunted down an unlock key to unlock it to the Deluxe version which plays every currently available format, and even splits the sound into 5.1 channels. It also makes damn good use of hardware acceleration.

I don't know why, but it won't work.

I downloaded a pack that said it contained all Codecs, I made sure AVI's were 'ticked' on installation and it still has an 'error downloading codec'.

Someone help :-(

do a google for AVI codecs.
once you install the right one, Media Player will play it no worries.
