Every time I click a link that goes directly to a vid file - .mpg say - it plays it in the browser.
I've gone to the MIME settings things in Quicktime and basically unticked everything.
I've looked and seen nothing else that suggests it should do this.
So...how do I disable this feature?
I'd rather just have the damn files downloaded thanks.

Try looking under internet options > programs > manage add ons
