Just ordered a new laptop with a 802.11g Wireless card.
Want to get a wireless card for my PC so i can share my broadband connection. Been looking around and you also have the 802.11b. Does it matter which one i get, or do i have to get a 802.11g?

Oh, and my PC is already connected to my brothers PC with an ethernet connection. This wont hinder my ability to have a wireless connection with my laptop will it?

Wireless cards talking to each other isn't their natural state so they can need quite a bit of messing around to get working sometimes.

Okay, got a Wireless card installed on my PC, but the laptop and the PC dont seem to recognise each other.
Done the wizard thing, and set up the details with a flash drive. PC is running xp pro, while laptop is running xp home. Would that be a problem?

The 802.11g cards are faster than 802.11b cards, but the 801.11g system is backwards compatible with the slower 802.11b system. So you could get either, but to fully exploit the faster card on the laptop, you would have to get a matching card for your PC.
