When you're in the moon base-thingy, and you go up into the vents I decided to drop down the hatch to the right of where you enter, and landed inside the little changing room. When I came out, Mario had turned pixilated, as well as the other characters. Along with some classic Mario bros. music.
It's a bit pointless really, as you change back when you leave the room and you can't really do anything when you're like that, but it brought a smile to my face.
Oh, and while you PM2 people are here... wtf are you supposed to do once you reach the room past the 3 keycards? :D

I was so worried that this was like some game runining aspect. But to be honest it was alright and rather enjoyable. A bit too short and the TINY little trek from the steeple to town was annoying as you had to do it 4 times but hey. Never mind.
Have you come up against that X-Naut leader-guy yet? No, not Lord Grodus - the guy who 'disguised' himself on your boat trip...
Did you find the disc in the computer desk draw, or whatever it is you need to find in there?
I've got a terrible memory... I could quite possibly be talking a good 20-minutes ahead of your current position, or something!
All I can think about is that damn end-of-game boss - JUST YOU WAIT AND SEE!! :P
First, you're killing him (sorry, 'it'); then, you can't even scratch it!
Next, you have some more cut-scenes, ...and 150HP to knock off a foe with an attack power of 7, extra 'assistance' and only a thunder bolt, super shroom and 50FP things in your pocket - and, believe me, they'll go quickly!
---
For anyone who does get this far, here's a personal tip:
When it comes to the FINAL encounter with the demon, start with bob-omb-guy as your partner. Use his 9FP attack first, each turn, and then get Mario to add something beefy (perhaps set it alight?).
When his time comes, change to Koops - or, you may find it easier to use Koops and his power shell attacks first, actually; saving the beefy blasts 'til later...
After that, I've found Vivian to be the best for defence. Use her 1HP Veil move for safety after the enemy's charged up, and set them all alite when you can and it's safe to do so.
You'll need to keep a close eye on your Star Power throughout, and be sure to use it wisely. Don't let Mario's HP drop too low. Try to use ALL items as a very last resort.
This evening was the THIRD time I've tried to beat this thing, yet I can only get so far (to about 23HP) before I'm dried-out of resources and fresh and ripe for its picking....
The worst part isn't neccesarily the defeat - it's having to sit through all the extra stuff before hand; EVERY SINGLE TIME!!
I know I will do it but, right now... I could cry!
:'S
It's easily the most annoying chapter.
There used to be a box in the original Paper Mario that if mario walked into he'd come out as retro-mario.
