I'm making an assumption purely on the basis of past experience with Sony.

If it can be done cheaper with fiddly extras, then why not do it that way?

Let me get this straight:

You'll be suprised if the PSP has an obscene battery life, yet it probably will?

You sound a little confuzzled to me.

As far as batteries go, they'll probably release something that clips on to the bottom of the PSP which houses a AA battery...like they do with their Minidiscs for example.

there will be two different psp packs. one is just the console, battery and something else, and the value pack is going to contain an extra battery as well as another bunch of accesories including a 32mb memory stick duo.

I couldn't care less. I'm never on a handheld long enough in one sitting to ever worry about battery life.

Only it would make sense if they did.

But there'll be a battery pack sold soon anyway...
