See thats great i bet your brother put a load of effort in to getting really good and it has payed off. Good for him. I haven't put a amazing amount of effort in to my work yet but i plan on building my portfolio over the next 6 mounths or so just as i leave uni. I am hoping my degree will get me an interview but i am counting on my hard work and effort to get me a job.

Again, I agree. My brother is a pro animator / modeller / artist and what qualifications in art has he got? Nill. Zilch. Nada. Nothing. Not even an A level let alone a degree.

Ah well, it's gonna get to them if they somehow manage to blag their way into a job and are thrown in right into the middle. Though in this day and age most people who start off only begin with light, guided work anyway.

Zero, effectively.
Interest on student loans is capped at the rate of inflation. Your net repayment will be whatever you borrowed, in real terms.
Nah there are loads of people that get through uni and don't have a ounce of skill i checked. Loads of my class got 2.2 for their animations and one guys was a camera moving around 16 rectangles. It must have taken 3 minutes to do. He sould have been knee capped and thrown out the window. Loads of work that isn't very good gets through these days. Job's wise it's down to a good portfolio not just made up of shoddy uni work.
