This is already causing problems backstage. Recently Vince has been taking more of a back seat and allowing Stephanie more control over the WWE product. When Vince came up with the idea of the ECW PPV, his idea was to bring in all the big ECW names who currently don't work for the WWE (Sandman, Raven, Shane Douglas, Terry Funk etc) on one-night-only deals to work alongside the existimng members of the roster with ECW backgrounds (RVD, Rhyno, Tajiri...). Stephanie is diameterically opposed to this idea and wants to use only existing members of the roster, supplimented by guys whoo are on the roster but ddn't work for ECW (so what's the point in having an ECW PPV then Steph?). It'll be interesting to see if Vince pulls rank on Stephanie, or if he lets his daughter have her own way.
Related to this, Paul Heyman was expexcted to be given total creative freedom of control over the PPV. Heyman had recently returned to the Smackdown writing team at the request of Vince McMahon. Now, not that I'm a conspiracy theorist but it seems Stephanie has had Heyman removed form the writing team again, over an incident where a Raw booking meeting was disrupted by someone who wasn't accounted for suddenly leaving the conference call. Stephanie seems to have pinned this on Heyman somehow. (Don't like the idea of having someone on the team with ideas that are better than your own Steph? Or someown booking a PPV that would be more succesful than your own?) Heyman is now no longer on the writing team and no longer travelling on the Road as Heidenreich's manager, so he may be gone form the WWE altogether.
What Stephanie doesn't seem to understand however is that Heyman = ECW. Without him, there no point putting on an ECW brand PPV as the ECW fans will poop on it from a great height...

Yes, we are doomed. And with TNA gone from TWC to all intents and purposes, I can't see 2005 being a great year for wrestling.
