Everyone has heard the saying two heads are better than one. What if this phrase was adopted into the world or gaming.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if companies worked together in the video game industry, most at the moment working against each other and this causes faults and errors in the end product which is fixed by the huge promotion of poor quality goods.

Rare work with Nintendo, they share ideas, characters and information and the result is extremely good quality games...

...Sega didn't work with any companies and Sega make great games, that no one can deny, now Sega are working heavily with Nintendo and others, and much alike Rare I do believe the result of their released games will be extremely great, I expect Sega will now release games with new and original ideas, because they are talking to other competitors and making changes before the deadline instead of after.

There are many examples in the world of successful companies that have worked with another to boost sales and quality, one that springs to my mind is that of Adobe and Macintosh, these companies have never released a new piece of software without letting the other test it, its like a little friendship they have, you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.

Gaming companies need to communicate much more and with the result of this communication gamers will see a much higher quality of games and products.

Collaborations always seem like a good idea, but more often than not, they don't work.

Nintendo and Rare do work well together, but I don't think you could throw others together in such a way, and get the same results. You say two heads are better than one, but it would really be two teams. These teams would have worked together before, and be comfortable in their own working practices. If you try to get them to work to someone elses method, then it might not work.

In fact it might actually be a case of 'too many cooks spoil the broth'.

Edgy, competition is always a great thing, it improves quality in most cases, but there are a few that take this competition to far and feel that releasing the most games will win them the war, well in the case of EA this is too true, they release too many games and seem to have re-releases every few weeks...

...with competitive companies talking and communicating the quality would most probably increase.
