I've seen this before, it's on BBC 2 just now.

Quite interesting, seeing things that aren't black and white makes more of an impact on you I guess.

Of course, whenever you see fuzzy black and white, you think "years in the past, old, dirty never happen to us" but see it in colour and it's like "wow, that could have been me."

It's funny. I was watching this and thinking, "Wow. If Hitler had succeeded, we'd be under Nazi rule and wouldn't be free etc etc etc".
European and American soldiers fought the Nazi regime in order to keep us all free.
They died for our freedom.


And then I flicked the channel to hear some morons laughing a dog jumping in some field on ITV (You've been...), and some Glasweigans whining and talking about someone splitting up with someone.

Oh dear.

Especially when you've only studied the period in dirty, yellow paged books and only seen clips in dodgy black and white trenches.

Then you see a perfect Spring day with Nazis walking around Paris.

They have these on the History channel all the time, some nutty stuff there. 50 years ago that would have been us.

It's good aye. I really didn't think they would have had footage that good 60 years ago, but I was wrong.
