I cant generate the same speed as my mates on the sprint events and power on other events when using the o and x buttons. please help me beat my arrogent freinds
Use both thumbs.
Hold onto left hand side of controller tightly with left hand. And shake the right hand side back and forth. Or other way round.

It's easier to use 2 hands, and just use your index fingers. It can screw up the start a little, as you have to switch from using one hand to two, but if you do it right it doesn't affect your speed much.
Press the buttons quickly and in time.
