Looks like I won't be getting my Xmas present on time this year. My Mum said that it hasn't arrived yet (2 DVDs) oh and she didn't say it to me directly like that. Oh well, guess I should be happy with my money toward Nintendo DS.

I'm sure she's just acting surprised for your benefit. She'll know by now that you are lying. The real surprise would be when you actually don't get her something.

She could be doing it to wind you up? I often tell Lucy that I haven't/couldn't/won't get her something, just so it surprises her when I do.
