Have you not watched Heat or Velocity recently? The 'Superstars' concept is alive and well.

I didn't enjoy it at all. It just came of as a bit unbelievable, as one of the guys was significantly taller than the other. Plus the moves were put together with very little thought towards Psychology or selling any lasting impact. Don't get me wrong, it was gynastically very impressive, but a match does need at least some psychology.

Actually that's not entirely correct. The Max Moon character WAS created for Konnan and he debuted the gimmick at house shows. But Konnan fell out with WWE management before the character ever made it to TV. The man under the max and stupid suit on TV was WWE veteran and Shawn Michael's long-time travelling partner (pre-HHH), Paul Diamond.

Max Moon (who we now know as Konan) is the guy who wrestled in the early 90s, but he was not a midget. Max Mini was not introduced as a parody of Max Moon until 1997, his first event being IYH: Badd Blood (IYH 18), I believe.

Actually, they said he was the first mini-superstar? Well, that's possible, the guy could have been forty/fifty years old. Disregard the above rant.
