EA not supporting the Dreamcast was one of the reasons for the fall of SEGA's final machine. Could the same happen to Nintendo?

Not yet. Recent box art from EA has reveals Mario, Peach and Luigi in the corner with the words "all stars" for game NBA street volume 3.

The game itself is a pretty decent title and the "all stars" indicates a full Nintendo team may be included in the game. This EA-Nintendo news smells of the "Link in Soul Calibur 2" news and Namco followed that with a slew of exclusive Nintendo games and a serious boost in SC2 sales.

It is almost certain that the die hard Nintendo fan base will buy this game with the inclusion of Nintendo's big characters. I for one, someone who would never have got a title in this series, will buy the game on this news.

Boosting EA sales is what Nintendo have been trying to do for a while, there are special Rogue Agent and Need for Speed adverts jointly paid for by Nintendo and EA that only advertise them on the Gamecube.

One step on from advertising other company's games is altering them to suit the fan base. This should also help to some level improve the falling popularity of Mario.

Maybe.

I'll get the Cube version if this is an extra. If they take something out to compensate then I'll go for the Xbox version instead.

Saying that, the Xbox version will probably have LIVE - so its either an online version, or a Mario enhanced version.

Apparently it looks rather funny as the characters are about half the size of the full scale characters.

NBA street has always tempted me, I enjoyed Left Fields Courtside 2002 and I've always heard that NBA Street is the best in the genre.

I dunno why but being the Nintendo fan I am, I am more tempted to get it now.

But SCII also had extra, exclusive characters for the XB and PS2.

Would you actually but the game if it didn't have them in?

They won't have them in the PS2 or X-box editions.

Look it'll sell more because of it.

R-Racing sold on the Gamecube because of Nintendo's inclusion of Pacman Vs.

Soul Calibur 2 sold so many more copies because of Link.

Mario and Luigi could just be a little silly team that is included. Big deal.

I'd play as them for a laugh.

But they still fit in with the overall colour scheme and follow the same character models. How the hell is Mario supposed to fit in with the graphics and characters in NBA Street?

And what're they going to do with it on the PS2 and XB?

Many games include comic touches to the game. Tony Hawks feature cartoon characters, movie stars and freaks amongst the "unlockables".
