However, at least with a console game I know the bloody thing will work straight away. No problems with graphics, freezing, loading, crashing etc etc
Bah... don't get me starting on the hassle it is to upgrade.

yeah thats why i don't post in there people try to argue your opinion?? which doesn't make sense cause it doesn't change because someone decides to insult me. glad there are cool peeps in here that aren't like that.

Luckily, you posted it here as opposed to any of the console forums, which would have started some ranting.
A Pc is a working tool that you can play games on. A console is a toy that has limited practicle uses.
I still love console games however.
Just bought "Chaos Legion" for PC, a PS2 port (2.99 fact fans!)
Very repetative, but a lovely GFX style and it's nice to play something mindless and buttonthrashy for a change.
i play PC games pretty much all the time now.
the new generation of consoles have just no appeal to me. Xbox...blah i have windows don't need a console that chugs, ps2....meh pads are horrible and haven't found a game i like even though they pump them out like buns at a bakers and the gamecube...fuzzy i don't like everything looking like it has been drawn in pastels or smudged slightly. one of the games they release have made me think yeah i want one of those.
please remember this is just my opinion.
Couldn't agree more with the original post though, I just learnt to be patient, plus I enjoy messing about with my PC in a none geekoid way ;)
I like console gaming as well, but feel I'm drifting from the "Pick-up-and-play" value they offer. I haven't completed any of my recent console purchases due to lost interest, and as for recent console game's, nothing has interested me at all, not even Metroid Prime 2, a sequel to a game I liked allot. I'm looking forward to a couple of releases next year, but on the whole I've not touched my Gamecube or PS2 for weeks now.

Bishibashy on the PSONE a beautiful smashy buttons game.

i agree totally with this and i think it's the one thing that stops alot of console peeps turning to PC's cause they don't want to spend hard cash then have to wait a few weeks for a patch that makes it work how it should have in the first place.
'Prime example the skipping in HL2 how did they miss that? unless they blink alot more than us at the valve testing labs?'

I'm going to get you started on it.
Yeah upgradings costly a 'few hundred pounds' but for the improvement well worth it. I upgrade every 1.1/2 to 2 years and i am coming up to 2 yearsnow and i haven't really come across a game that i had to turn down settings on still. Consoles they only really bring out new ones every 4 - 5 years depending how well they do.
