I've managed to get some kind of trojan dialer on my desktop. I'm running WinME, with no virus protection or firewall. I'm surprised it took this long for something to get through, as I've got loads of cracked software, and I use Kazaa quite a bit. Anyway, it's changed my username, password and connection number for all my existing dial-ups, and any new ones that I make. I've got a copy of Bullguard (ironically Kazaa use Bullguard, which is probably where I got it from), but it needs to connect to the Internet to install.

So I'm stuck with no Internet at home, until I get broadband in a few months, unless someone can help me out and tell me how to get rid of it?

Hmmm, the problem appears to have corrected itself now. I'm getting the correct dial-up number and details in the properties. My Uncle may have been over and fixed it. There's no way it could have masked the details and used false ones, is there?

I only download legal torrents too, such as Naruto, which as yet has no license, so filesharing is A-OK.

You're all a bit silly if you think that downloading warez from suprnova is better than getting it off Kazaa. Cracked software is always going to be a major security risk no matter where you get it from. To top it all off, the RIAA and MPAA are all over the most prolific bittorrent trackers.

To the OP, the best option is to flatten and reinstall. Failing that, download spybot and ad-aware, boot into safe mode and run them.

I downloaded 22 Gb's in less than a week with Bit Torrent. It's hardly slow.

Why don't you like it?
Suprnova has practically everything you could ever want, and I always get much better speeds on torrents than I do on filesharing apps like LimeWire.

Can Bittorrent act just the same as a P2P?

As in, I use it to download Anime, but never really thought of using it for anything else.

In my mind, it's only for HUGE files. (And it's a bit sh*te.)

My god. I'm amazed that there hasn't been a massive amount of "dirty pirate" replies to this thread. Can you imagine what would be said if you posted this in a games forum.

"You scum!" etc, yada, yada, yada.

Suprnova.org. Never got a virus yet. Only bad point id the occasional password protected rar. Iso's are usually fine.

YEAH YEAH.

Also, if you are going to get Limewire (which is Godly for music), use this link - it's the Pro version which is all spyware/adware less etc:
