"Noel Edmonds Shot"

The lovable(ish) House Party host was shot today outside a London branch of Harvey Nichols in what was beleived to be a botched robbery attempt. Noel, 53, was Christmas shopping with his wife, Christine at the time. She commented, "This guy came out of nowhere and told Noel he had a gun and to hand over his wallet. Noel burst out laughing assuming it was some kind of prank, but there was a loud bang and Noel fell down."

Noel is currently being looked after in the intensive care unit of St Anne's hospital in East London, where his critical is said to be stabilisting. No suspects have been apprehended yet, but CCTV footage and passers by have revealed the suspect to be around six-foot-three, of a stout build and with a lot of round yellow spots. He was also naked.

In other news, Andrew Simmons, the man who formerly played Mr Blobby on Noel's popular television show, escaped from his minimum security psychiatric ward today. He was last seen in the BBC props room, where a vintage 1992 Blobby costume was stolen.

Police have warned that Simmons is to be considered very dangerous.

Yeah. It was kind of very obvious.
