I was playing CS:Source last night, and got nailed as my atention was wandering.

Someone posted "lol. That took a while for you to register" to which I replied "I was looking at the radar. DOH!"

Now, immediately I got a batch of "OMFG, you've got a radar?" "sell it on ebay, there's haxors that'll pay a fortune for that!"

Now, Im I toally getting the wrong end of the stick here, but isn't the radar
the small circle in the top left of the screen? Doesn't everyone have one?
If not, why not? What's going on here?

Is it me or are they just taking the P*** out of a noob?

Yup. Same here. I heard off my brother that there's a port forward you have to open to allow it to work. Never found it myself.

Frustration.

Aha! Just found a page saying the Friends network is on a different port to steam. 1200.

I'm going to set up a forward tonight, see if anyone shows up.

If my Friends list would decide to work, I'd find you and join you!

I added everyone from the Steam nicknames thread, but none of them ever appear online.

Heh. I've only been playing for a couple of weeks. Had a bad run last night though. Took me ages to find the groove.

I'm still looking forward to playing some memebers of these forums.

Oh, I think I get it now. The T's for example, can see if the CT's are above/below them?

Bwahahh, I think they're pulling your leg mate.

Worst is people that come on just to kill their own team. Happens all the time on Halo for some reason. Jerkwads.

It's true but I'll say it again: Find a good clan server with nice regulars on it and you won't have any of these problems ever again. On the down side, it does take quite a while to find one.

Er...what? You can't see if someone is above/below you? You've gotta be kidding me right...on CS 1.6 you can see, why would they take it out of Source?

And Panda...I've noticed you say your usually on top of the list at the end of each map...maybe it's time you stopped calling yourself a noob :D

Ahhhhhhhh, I see. I knew cheats like aimbots existed, and server side cheats on CS like see through walls, but didn't think of something like this.

Unfortunatlly this is the problem with CS and always will be. There are a load of people that just seem to be on there to take the mick out of anyone.

He mite have thought you had the cheat version of the radar that lets you see both sides on the radar and if they are higher or lower than you.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
