I've never brought on Ebay before so I was just wondering how it works in relation to Paypal? Do the funds come out of your Paypal account, or can you use your bank card? Also, how does it normally work, do you contact the seller once you've got the highest bid at the end of an auction, or is there a checkout process that handles the payment for you (ie: Would you have to log into paypal and send the money). Or does this vary from seller to seller. Thanks for any helpful info (or pointers)you may have so I don't make a pigs ear of it.

It's all rather straightfoward. Sign up to PayPal, do what they say. You have the option to link up your eBay and Paypal accounts, and when you want to pay for an item where PP is allowed, ebay will take you through it.

In that situation, would I be able to use my bank card (its already linked to the Paypal account). Main reason being because I have hardly anything in the Paypal account and the transfer of funds take a good few days to go through

it goes straight from your card if your sending. you have to withdraw it if its sent to you which for some unknown reason (well i suspect interest gathering but it claims bank clearance time)takes about 5 days

Another question, if I win an item, and I have the funds, can I pay with the money in my Paypal account and how does that work (by clicking send payment?)

If there's money in PayPal, the default option is to use your payPal balance. If there isn't enough in PayPal then it takes the rest from a credit/debit card.
