Spain has January 7th, which is when all the mad sales begin. They have loads of ads running up until 6th Jan, which is traditionally when the kids presents are given out, then everyone else rushes out to Corte Ingles on the 7th to get cheaper stuff for them. In the south, at least, they're not too big on presents at Christmas, it's more traditional, the presents come with the 3 kings, which is where the Christian part of the present giving came from.

nope that's Black Thursday and Tuesday, there was another Black Friday back in the 1800's to do with gold but nowadays Black Friday is basically just referring to the start of Xmas shopping in America

and you Brits had a Black Wednesday. I'm pretty sure that's all of them covered now :-)

Ah god that was insanely cold, about minus 30-40 with the windchill added in. Lovely load of snow though, up to my knee in some places

Yeah, you have to go right up north to get any decent snow. Wouldnt mind going to Canada in the winter :)

Not really, you can never drive around New York anyway so didn't make much of a difference :-D

Yea not much fun here, you get a bit of snow but always gets washed away

blimey that's a lot, must cause even more problems for the traffic.I dont think we'll get any snow this year, just more rain :(

heh yup just a tad, there's quite a few videos of the blizzard we had last winter, up to 30 inches of snow apparently :-D
