i have most of my music on cd's and whenever i d/l a cd ripper and rip songs off the cd they are about 10x the size than they were when they are in mp3 format. Is there anyway as i am thinking of getting a minidisc recorder or mp3 and would like to know when u burn songs to minidisc or mp3 players if they shrink them down or something as the mindisc say they have 80mins or whatever but does this still allow 15+ songs to be on there and only take up the 80mins because 50 mb is hugh. also Should i get an mp3 or minidisc player. What do u think.
Sounds like they're getting encoded to .wav to me...

You have mp3s on the CDs?
Why don't you just copy and paste? ....
If they're actual CDA files, then make sure you're 1) compressing them to mp3 and 2) that the bitrate is the same as it was when the files were mp3s.
